Acupuncture

Acupuncture is a holistic system of medicine
encompassing the whole person. It recognises
and utilises the enormous potential of the
human body to adjust, repair and rebalance
itself. It offers individualised treatment
based on analysing information obtained through
listening, interviewing, observation, palpation
and pulse taking.

Acupuncture originates in China, but
is now used all over the world as knowledge of its benefits
increases. Central to Traditional Chinese Medicine is the
concept of Qi, the life force or vital energy which flows
throughout the body. In a healthy person the Qi flows smoothly
around the body. However, if this flow is disrupted for some
reason, illness can occur.
Acupuncture can balance the flow of Qi
and stimulate the body’s own healing by inserting very fine
needles into specific points on the body.
