Through her training in massage and acupuncture, Suzanne has developed a technique which incorporates Swedish massage, deep tissue massage and acupressure.  Each treatment will be tailored to your individual requirements.

Swedish massage refers to a collection of techniques designed primarily to relax the muscles and ease aches and pains.  It is a system of long strokes, kneading and friction techniques on the more superficial layers of the muscles, combined with active and passive movements of joints.

Deep tissue massage  is used to release chronic muscle tension through slower strokes and more direct pressure or friction applied across the grain of the muscles.  This involves slowly working into the deep layers of muscle tissue in order to release muscular congestion and tension.

Acupressure is an ancient healing art that uses the fingers to press key points on the surface of the skin.  When these points are pressed, they release muscular tension and promote the circulation of blood and Qi, the body’s life force, to aid healing.  Acupuncture and acupressure use the same points, but acupuncture employs needles, while acupressure uses gentle, but firm pressure.

If you do not have time for a full-body massage (up to one hour), why not try a relaxing back or face massage (30 minutes)?
